This is an excerpt from a Shabbat service at Sinai Temple in Springfield Massachusetts. This service, on January 14, 2011, was in honor of Debbie Friedman who died the preceding weekend. The entire congregation mourned the death of this gifted singer and songwriter who so enriched our worship and the worship experience of Reform Jews throughout the world. the music in this service, led by Rabbi Mark Dov Shapiro and Cantor Martin Levson, was almost entirely from the works of Debbie Friedman. This video, and the accompanying video entitled "A Shabbat Service in Honor of Debbie Friedman" are excerpted from our Service.
